Excision guidelines for Melanoma

• All excisions should be down to muscle fascia.
• In Situ Melanoma > 5mm Margin
• < 2mm Breslow’s depth > 10mm Margin
• > 2mm Breslow’s depth > 20 mm Margin

Desmoplastic Melanoma

• > 50 mm Margin

Indication for Sentinel Lymph Node Biospy in Melanoma patients

• > 1mm Breslow’s depth
• Mitotic count = or > 1 mm2
• Clarkes level 4 or 5
• Ulceration of Melanoma
